Just hours after releasing his image, police say a potential witness in the death of a gas station clerk has come forward and is in contact with detectives. Police say this man entered and left the store just minutes before the robbery and was traveling in a vehicle. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said 27-year-old Trenton James Way was killed around 1:30 a.m. during a robbery at the Kangaroo gas station on Highway 150 in Bessemer.

Scattered rain showers wrapping up this morning

Scattered rain showers will wrap up this morning, and most of the area will be dry by 8-10 a.m. In addition to the rain, some patchy fog may slow you down as well so you may want to give yourself a few extra minutes for the morning drive. Temperatures are still mild this morning, but they won’t warm up much through the day. We’ll drop into the upper 40s/lower 50s this morning, and only recover into the mid 50s this afternoon.
