(WAFF) - Wednesday's temperatures will be similar to Tuesday morning, ranging from the mid-30s to the mid-40s. Skies will be sunny but there could be a few foggy spots in valleys or near rivers and lakes. The cloud cover will increase throughout the day and skies will become mostly cloudy by the mid-afternoon.
Highs should make it to near 70° with isolated showers possible into the afternoon, but steadier rain should hold off until later Wednesday evening. The rain will continue overnight with many seeing 0.5 – 1" of rain by Thursday morning. Lows should fall to around 50.
Rain will taper off Thursday morning and should be out of the area by 8-10 a.m. As the rain moves out, skies will being clearing as we head into the afternoon. Winds will switch around to the north at 5-10 mph ushering in some cooler air. Highs stay in the 50s with lows bottoming out near freezing for Friday morning under mainly clear skies.
