(WAFF) -

Wednesday's temperatures will be similar to Tuesday morning, ranging from the mid-30s to the mid-40s. Skies will be sunny but there could be a few foggy spots in valleys or near rivers and lakes. The cloud cover will increase throughout the day and skies will become mostly cloudy by the mid-afternoon.

Highs should make it to near 70° with isolated showers possible into the afternoon, but steadier rain should hold off until later Wednesday evening. The rain will continue overnight with many seeing 0.5 – 1” of rain by Thursday morning. Lows should fall to around 50.

Rain will taper off Thursday morning and should be out of the area by 8-10 a.m. As the rain moves out, skies will being clearing as we head into the afternoon. Winds will switch around to the north at 5-10 mph ushering in some cooler air.  Highs stay in the 50s with lows bottoming out near freezing for Friday morning under mainly clear skies.

Friday should be the coolest day of the upcoming week, as highs likely won’t make it out of the 40s. We’ll be into the upper 20s that night, but temperatures should rebound to near 50° for Saturday afternoon.
