FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Mild Friday in store with unseasonably warm temperatures ahead

(WAFF) -

This morning will start off on a mild note, with temperatures running about 10-15° warmer compared to Thursday morning. Most of you are in the upper 50s to low 60s, which is actually warmer than our average high for this time of year. There may be a few pockets of morning fog, but we’re not in store for a repeat of Thursday.

Skies will be mostly cloudy and should stay that way throughout the day. Despite the clouds, it’s going to be an unseasonably warm afternoon with highs into the low 70s. You may see a few stray showers from time to time, but don’t expect any heavy, sustained rain.

Saturday brings more of the same: A warm start to the morning with a fair amount of cloud cover through the day. There will likely be a few more breaks in those clouds Saturday. Afternoon highs will be within a couple degrees of the record, topping out in the low-to-mid 70s.

Sunday will start off warm once again but a strong cold front will approach the Valley late Sunday. Most of the day will be dry, but a line of heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms can be expected late, entering the Shoals between 6-10 p.m. Sunday.
