(WAFF) - Expect delays as road work begins
Motorists can expect delays when traveling on South Memorial Parkway, as a multi-million dollar road work project begins. Construction has begun on the $53.9-million project to complete the expressway and frontage roads between Golf Road and Whitesburg Drive. ALDOT says motorists should expect delays caused by temporary closures of the inside lanes of S. Memorial Pkwy. in various locations through the 1.5-mile construction zone. When possible, two lanes will remain open in each direction. Closures will generally begin after 9 a.m. for northbound lanes and end before 3 p.m. for southbound lanes.
