Suspect in custody after overnight crime spree

An Athens man is behind bars this morning, facing a slew of charges in Limestone County. Casey Cole White approached his ex-girlfriend at her home in Limestone County, where he pulled out two handguns. White then shot and killed a dog inside of the residence, fled on foot and stole a man's Ford Explorer. White then crossed the Tennessee line, where he fired shots at a woman at the Tennessee Welcome Center on I-65, striking her in the arm. He continued to flee, stealing another car before heading back to Limestone County. After leading authorities on a high-speed chase, a lengthy standoff took place before White surrendered. He's currently in the Limestone County Jail on charges of theft, burglary and robbery but more are expected to be filed in Giles County, Tennessee.
