HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

"Do you have change for a dollar?"

How many times have you heard or asked that innocent question?

But the only thing a crook wanted changed was turning a single dollar into many more dollars.

The thief is shown on surveillance camera standing at the counter of the Shell Minit Man convenience store on Meridian Street Oct. 21.

The pictures were taken just seconds before he committed that theft.

According to police, this guy went to the checkout counter asking the clerk if he could get change for a dollar.

When the clerk opened the register, this guy leaned over the counter and grabbed a wad of bills, then ran out the door.

Police say this isn't the first time he's done it.

They say he's used this same method to steal money at several stores all around Huntsville.

Hopefully, this little game is about to be over.

These surveillance photos seem more than clear enough to put him behind bars.

And that's where you come in.

You can pocket a reward of up to $1,000.
