FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Skies clearing through the morning, temperatures reaching upper 60s

(WAFF) -

Tuesday morning will begin with plenty of low cloud cover and areas of fog and drizzle. Temperatures didn’t drop much overnight and most of us will be in the low-to-mid 50s this morning. The clouds should begin clearing for the mid-to-late morning and skies will become sunny this afternoon.

Temperatures Tuesday will be warmer than Monday with highs pushing into the upper 60s. It should be cooler overnight as lows fall into the mid-to-upper 40s.

Veterans Day is looking great across the Valley. You'll see plenty of sunshine early with increasing clouds for late Wednesday afternoon. A strong storm system takes shape well to our northwest bringing with it a weakening line of storms, heading into the Shoals late Wednesday night.

With those storms locally heavy rain is possible and the stronger storms may produce wind gusts up to 45 mph. This line tracks east through the early morning hours of Thursday with gusty winds being the primary threat. The rain should be gone by the afternoon with highs topping out in the mid-60s.

Cooler weather is on tap for the rest week as high pressure builds into the southeast this weekend, with some of the coldest air so far this fall will arrive.
