FIRST ALERT: Tuscaloosa PD investigating incident captured on video; Cloudy, rainy start to Monday

(WAFF) -

Tuscaloosa PD investigating video

Tuscaloosa police now say they are investigating an incident captured on video over the weekend. Police say it began as a noise complaint at the 12th Avenue Place Apartments and soon escalated, as captured on cellphone video. Videos show officers tasing one man and soon after striking him with their batons. Tuscaloosa's police chief says that the video has been turned over to Internal Affairs and the investigation will begin Monday morning.

Mizzou football players protest

Football players at the University of Missouri say that they will now join others in protesting racism across the school's campus and call for the resignation of the university's president, Tim Wolfe. At least 30 African-American football players say they will not participate in athletic activities until Wolfe is removed.

Rainy start to work week

Monday will start out cloudy and rainy with temperatures in the mid-40s to low 50s for many across the Valley. While the skies will remain cloudy for the remainder of the day, the rain should move out by the afternoon hour.
