FIRST ALERT: Carriger Road Bridge reopening Thursday; Cloudy start to Thursday with patchy fog

Carriger Road Bridge reopening

After months of waiting, Carriger Road Bridge in Hazel is set to reopen Thursday morning. It was closed in May after it was deemed unsafe for drivers and the flow of traffic. The repairs to the bridge cost a whopping $2.5 million and caused the Madison County Commission to push back and postpone several other paving projects until 2016.

Heroes Week in Huntsville kicks off

Over 60 veterans will be traveling to Huntsville to kick off 2015 Heroes Week. The week-long event celebrates veterans and their dedication and commitment to our country. Their arrival will begin at 10:30 Thursday with the welcome happening later Thursday afternoon.

Some areas affected by patchy fog

Skies starting out for your Thursday morning will be mostly cloudy but that won't keep the temperatures from reaching an unseasonably warm high. Highs today will top out around 80 degrees as a cold front continues to make its way towards the Valley. Some areas could have spots of patchy fog as you make your morning commute.
