LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A convicted killer in the Shoals has been denied parole for another five years
Timmie Kelley is serving a life sentence for the brutal murder of Troy Condrey in Aug. 2000.
Investigators said Kelley manipulated his friend to pretend to have car trouble and Condrey stopped to help him.
They said Kelley then brutally attacked Condrey and dumped his body in the Tennessee River. Kelley pleaded guilty to the murder in 2003.
Condrey's family has petitioned to keep Kelley behind bars. Forty-five people were in person protesting his release on Tuesday morning in Montgomery.
Kelley will be eligible for parole again in five years.
