Bulldogs searching for answers after Magic City Classic loss

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WAFF) -

Not the ending Alabama A&M wanted Saturday night at the Magic City Classic.

A 35-20 loss to rival Alabama State puts the Bulldogs at 2-5 overall, but more importantly 2-3 in the SWAC Eastern Division.

Alabama State jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, before A&M tied it in the 2nd quarter.

But after that, all Hornets. Just seemed that on the sidelines, the guys were just flat.

Head Coach James Spady frustrated at the performance as well.

"We did not get off to a very good start. We spotted them 14 points, But you know what, that's what we keep doing to ourselves, and that's the most discouraging thing. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am.”

The Bulldogs return home Saturday to face Mississippi Valley State Saturday at 1.
