FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Cooler start Friday and rain showers expected for Halloween

(WAFF) -

Temperatures will be noticeably colder this morning with many of us starting the day about anywhere from the upper 30s into the mid-40s. Be sure to grab a jacket before you head out the door. There could also be a few foggy spots this morning, but outside of that, skies will be clear.

Highs should push into the upper 60s and clouds will begin increasing Friday evening. Temperatures will drop quickly after sunset, but likely won’t fall too much after midnight. If you have evening plans, I’d expect temperatures to fall into the mid-50s by 8 p.m.

Skies will be mostly cloudy Saturday and scattered light rain will move in during the afternoon hours with highs making it into the upper 60s. Heading into the evening, that rain spreads farther east and becomes steadier.

Make sure your trick-or-treaters have something bright/reflective on as the rain will make for even poorer visibility at night. The heaviest rain should fall overnight, and you may hear a few rumbles of thunder.

Scattered rain remains possible throughout Sunday and into the first half of Monday. We should be dry for the middle of next week with more sunshine than you’ll see this weekend. Look for highs next week to warm into the mid-to-upper 70s.
