FIRST ALERT: NYPD officer gunned down in line of duty; Flint River Bridge construction to affect traffic

NYPD killed while responding to call

A five-year veteran of the NYPD was killed in the line of duty Tuesday night. Randolph Holder was shot and killed while responding to a call about a man with a gun. After the shooting, police took one person into custody. Holder is the 4th NYPD officer who was killed while on duty in less than a year.

Students vote to remove state flag at Ole Miss

Students at Ole Miss have made a surprise move and voted to remove the Mississippi state flag from campus grounds. There are additional steps the resolution must go through, and be approved, in order for the flags to come down on campus.

Flint River Bridge construction to begin today

Repair work on the Flint River Bridge is set to begin Wednesday morning after being rescheduled. The repairs will start at 9 a.m. Wednesday and will continue until 2 p.m. that afternoon. However, the work could take longer if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Temperatures continue to climb

Temperatures this morning aren't as cool as they have been the last few mornings. We'll see a quick warm up with clear, sunny skies this morning, sending temperatures into the lower 70s by lunchtime and topping out in the low 80s.
