FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Foggy conditions affecting morning commutes - WAFF-TV: News, Weather and Sports for Huntsville, AL

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Foggy conditions affecting morning commutes, sunny skies and fall-like temperatures expected

(WAFF) -

Many of you will start your Tuesday morning with areas of fog, most of it being locally dense in spots. Clouds will be decreasing throughout the morning with sunny skies for the remainder of the day.

Temperatures will start out in the upper 50s and lower 60s, warming into the low 70s by lunchtime with highs in the mid-to-upper 70s by the late afternoon. Look for clear skies Tuesday night and a quick drop in temperatures after sunset, with lows bottoming out in the mid-40s.

You can expect more fall-like weather as we head through the remainder of the week.  We’ll see plenty of sunshine during the afternoons and highs each day should be in the mid-to-upper 70s, which is average for this time of year.

Light jackets may be necessary each morning with temperatures down in the 40s to begin the day.  A secondary push of cooler air heads into the Valley this Friday.  Moisture should be lacking with this system, so it doesn’t look like we’ll see any rain with this cold front.

It will knock temperatures down further for the weekend, however.  Highs should stay in the 60s, and lows Sunday morning could flirt with upper 30s.  We’ll start warming back up next week, but even then, highs look to stay at or just below average.

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
