Fire destroys vacant home

An early morning house fire ripped through a Hazel Green home, destroying it. Crews from three different fire departments responded to battle the fire. Firefighters are still on the scene putting out hot spots. Officials say that the home was vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries are reported. No word yet on what caused the blaze.

Patchy, dense fog snagging morning commute

Pockets of patchy, dense fog developed overnight over the northeast portion of the state. If you live in Jackson, DeKalb or Marshall County, chances are your morning commute will be affected by the foggy conditions. Be sure to allot yourself a few extra minutes on your drive this morning. Any fog should be lifted by 9 a.m.
