FIRST ALERT: Foggy conditions could affect your morning commute; Rev. Jesse Jackson expected in AL today

(WAFF) -

Foggy start to your Wednesday

Your morning commute could be delayed due to foggy conditions this Wednesday morning. The fog appears to be heaviest in the northeastern part of the state. Be sure to allot yourself a few extra minutes this morning and use caution while driving.

Rev. Jesse Jackson to make trip to Alabama

Reverend Jesse Jackson says he will meet with Alabama lawmakers and clergy members to discuss what he believes is the suppression of minority voters. The visit is stemming from the closure of 31 DMVs in Alabama. Jackson says the offices are closed in rural areas with high concentrations of African-Americans living below the poverty line and that the closures of these offices are no coincidence.

Clean up efforts underway in South Carolina

The torrential rainfall may have subsided but the Palmetto State is still dealing with mass devastation. At least 17 people were killed in flood and weather-related incidents and the search for the missing continues after rainfall caused widespread flooding throughout South Carolina. An estimate on the damage throughout the state has not yet been determined.
