FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Foggy start to Monday as warmer temperatures return

(WAFF) -

We’re starting this Monday morning with a few foggy spots. Some areas will see locally dense areas of fog that could be thick, so you may want to give yourself a few extra minutes of drive time through 8-9 a.m. We’ll go through the day with a mix of sun and clouds.

Temperatures this morning will start out in the upper 50s for most areas. Temperatures will warm faster than they did over the weekend and we’ll be into the mid-to-upper 70s at lunchtime with highs pushing into the lower 80s this afternoon. Look for partly cloudy skies this evening and lows bottoming out around 60° for Tuesday morning.

We could start Tuesday with a few foggy spots and a fair amount of cloud cover. Cloud cover will begin breaking up by the afternoon and highs will push into the low-to-mid 80s. You can expect to see more sunshine through the day Wednesday with highs reaching into the 80s once again.

Thursday should still be mostly sunny with highs into the mid 80s as a cold front makes its way towards the Tennessee Valley.

With that front, there’s a slight chance for rain Friday and Saturday as it passes through the Valley. Look for cooler conditions over the weekend with Saturday highs in the mid 70s with partly to mostly cloudy skies. We should be clear by Sunday with highs closer to 80.
