FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Cloud cover, scattered rain showers and cooler temps heading into this weekend

(WAFF) -

You can expect another cloudy and windy day with scattered rain showers on Friday with the most widespread rain and highest rain totals should be east of I-65. Temperatures are in the mid-to-upper 50s this morning and won’t warm up much through the day.

Afternoon highs should range from low-to-mid 60s, which is about 15-20° cooler than average for this time of year. Rain showers should diminish by this evening, but isolated pockets of light rain could hang on through the night. Lows should dip into the mid-50s Saturday morning.

Saturday will almost be a carbon copy repeat of Friday. You won’t see much, if any, sunshine and it will be cool and windy.  The rain coverage should be lower than Friday, so not as many of you will see the rain. Highs will be in the low 60s with lows that night dropping into the mid 50s.

Isolated showers are possible early Sunday, but the clouds should be clearing out for the afternoon. Temperatures will rebound back into the lower 70s for an afternoon high. Readings should slip into the upper 50s that night.
