FIRST ALERT: Witness says Oregon shooter targeted Christians; Rain, cooler temps for Friday morning

Religion looked at as possible motive in shootings

A witness says that the gunman in the mass shooting on an Oregon community college campus targeted his victims based on their religion. The student says the attacker demanded to know the religion of everyone in the classroom before shooting. Nine people in all are dead, 10 people including the gunman, who has been identified as Chris Harper Mercer. The names of the victims should be released within the next 24-48 hours. 

Cooler, drizzly morning commute

Another cloudy day with scattered rain showers can be expected for Friday. Temperatures will start out in the mid-to-upper 50s and won't warm up too much throughout the day. We can expect highs to only top out in the low-to-mid 60s.

Police investigating armed robbery

Huntsville police are investigating an early morning robbery that happened off of Governors Drive. Police say that the victim was robbed at gunpoint behind the Brother's Mini Mart near Governors Drive and 9th Street. No one was injured and police haven't made any arrests in this case.

Car vs. house in Hazel Green

We're on the scene of an accident where a car drove into a home in Hazel Green. The accident happened on Dandrige Drive in Hazel Green around 5:15 a.m. No injuries are being reported.
