WCHA to be featured on american sports network college hockey package

EDINA, Minn. – Sept. 28, 2015 – Increasing exposure for the league and the sport, the men’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and Commissioner Bill Robertson today announced an agreement to broadcast two Association games on American Sports Network (ASN) as part of ASN’s Friday night college hockey package.
Fans nationwide will be able to watch Alaska at Alabama Huntsville on Friday, Jan 8 (7:07 p.m. CT / 8:07 p.m. ET), along with Lake Superior State at Michigan Tech as part of Winter Carnival in Houghton, Mich. on Friday, Feb. 5 (7:07 p.m. CT / 8:07 p.m. ET). Both games, along with the entire ASN college hockey package, will be shown on select affiliates of the Sinclair Networks Group and on several Regional Sports Networks around the country.
“Our agreement with American Sports Network represents an important step for the WCHA and is an exciting development for our fans, who now have more opportunities and greater access to watch tremendous college hockey,” said WCHA Commissioner Bill Robertson. “We applaud ASN’s commitment to growing television exposure for our sport and are thrilled to collaborate in showcasing the tremendous student-athletes, programs and member institutions of the WCHA.”
With this deal, the WCHA joins Hockey East, the National Collegiate Hockey Association and ECAC Hockey in signing new agreements with ASN. The network also renewed its deal with the Big Ten Network to televise Big Ten Hockey.

Both WCHA contests televised on ASN, along with up to 196 WCHA games overall, will be streamed live via WCHA.tv.
