WEEKEND EVENTS: Bridge Street Tree Lighting, Tree Planting Festival, free movies underway on a chilly weekend

TENNESSEE VALLEY (WAFF) -

November means the holidays are upon us. Whether you're an early Christmas celebrator or you like to give Thanksgiving its time to shine, you can enjoy all the fun holiday events going on in the Tennessee Valley this weekend.

It's going to be a chilly weekend, so make sure you bundle up for all the outdoor events! Check here and on the WAFF 48 News App for the latest weather update before you start your weekend fun.

  • Bridge Street Tree Lighting

Santa will be in town and the tree at Bridge Street will be lit near Monaco Pictures. Then, there will be a spectacular fireworks show near the lake! The fun starts at 4:30 p.m. and the lighting will be at 6 p.m.

  • Movie for Manna House

Bring a canned good to Farley Community Church and you can watch a free showing of "Home." There will also be free popcorn! The event is effort to support hunger relief.

  • Tree Planting Festival

Head out to John Hunt Park on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon for face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, and tree plantings for the second annual Tree Planting Festival.

  • Festivals and Markets

There are so many free festivals and markets you can check out on Saturday. There is ASFL's International Fall Fest, Pineview Academy Holiday Bazaar, The Gingerbread Marketplace, and Fayetville's Host of Christmas Past. Rocket City Mom has a Market Guide here.
