National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is next week

It's that time again for you to go through your medicine cabinet and pull your out your old and expired prescription pills.

Next weekend is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

The purpose is to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing unwanted and expired drugs. The program also educates the community about the potential for abuse of medications. The Madison County Sheriff's office is just one of several law enforcement agencies participating in drug take-back 

"It helps eliminate a diversion process of getting does substances on the street and the second part of it is it also helps us keep our water system clean and working properly." says Lt. Michael Salomonshy Madison Co Sheriff's Office

National Prescription Drug Take-Back day is set for Saturday, September 26. 

One drop off location is at the CVS located on Highway 53 in Harvest. It's from 9am to 4pm.
