HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Another Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers success story comes with a twist - the suspect identified in a recent "crime of the week" has been in the headlines quite a bit.

Thanks to your tips, Fillis McGhee will be arrested for theft in connection the case showed you Aug. 26.

She faces a charge of stealing money from a purse that was left on the counter.

Dozens of people identified her, and Huntsville police tell us the victim has secured a warrant for McGhee's arrest.

But this is just the latest in the Fillis McGhee saga.

The Huntsville City School Board fired her as principal at Hampton Cove Elementary in 2011 amid allegations of nepotism and fraud.

This came soon after Alonzo McGhee was granted full custody of his three children.

That murder is still unsolved. If you have any information on the murder of Alonzo McGhee, you are asked to call in your anonymous tips to 256-53-CRIME, or text or email those anonymous tips.
