Eric Parker trial resumes today

The trial for a Madison police officer accused of excessive force picks back up Wednesday following a delay prompted by a specially-called meeting between the judge, attorneys, and police officials. The meeting took place behind closed-doors,and began shortly after the arrival of Police Chief Larry Muncey. Details of that meeting were not disclosed when the trial resumed, however a source indicated the subject concerned email contact Muncey made with officers who had previously testified in previous sessions of the Parker trial.

The defense began calling witnesses to the stand Tuesday, including a former officer who worked with Parker in the field. Parker himself is expected to take the stand and testify at some point during the trial.
