Tigers practice Sunday, ready for Louisville Saturday

(WAFF) - The Auburn Tigers worked out Sunday on the Plains, as the Louisville Cardinals loom ahead Saturday inside the Georgia Dome.

Cardinals Head Coach Bobby Petrino is known as one of the best minds in college football, which means Auburn's defense will be tested early.

After Sunday's practice, Will Muschamp spoke with the media. A number of true freshman will see time, most notably, Byron Cowart, the nation's number one prep player in the country a season ago.

Communication and playing fast key against a talented U of L team, said Muschamp.

"We got our work cut out for us, but I've liked our approach," he said. "Our guys have worked hard. First game, new defense, communication, those things we got to continue to work on to get ready to go."

Auburn safety and former New Hope High School standout Rudy Ford also encouraged with the communication during camp with his defensive unit.

"Great confidence, great communication with the guys, we responded really well, getting ready and getting focused. We've bonded well as a defensive unit, everything is filling in place."
Kickoff is set for Saturday at 2:30.
