FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

After a few days of helmets and shorts, the UNA football team donned full pads for the first time of fall camp. The Lions continue to prepare for their season opener Sept. 6 against Miles at Legion Field.

Wednesday was all about finding what players could make an impression on Head Coach Bobby Wallace.

"There's alot of players that look like they're gonna be good players that can help us this year," Wallace said. "We already know about the returners, I'm not looking at a whole lot from them. We're looking to see who can be physical in pads, who can play hard in pads, and stand up physically to the strength and hitting going on."

The Lions return to work Thursday, with their first scrimmage of camp set for Saturday.
