LOOK AHEAD: Scattered storms developing with heavy rain and gusty winds possible

(WAFF) -

Scattered storms throughout Wednesday

Skies will be mostly cloudy today as the unsettled weather continues. There may be a few foggy spots this morning along with isolated rain showers. Those showers will become more numerous in nature heading into the afternoon as a weak cold front approaches. Storms will develop, and some of them could be strong with gusty winds up to 50 mph. Heavy rain can be expected with most of the storms as well, and localized flash flooding could be a problem for some on your drive home this evening. Highs should make it into the upper 80s this afternoon before the storms become more widespread. Storms will wind down tonight, although the rain won’t diminish entirely overnight. Lows should fall into the lower 70s.

Scattered storms can be expected for the first half of Thursday with storms fading away by the evening. It won’t be as warm, and highs will top out in the low-to-mid 80s. Skies will be partly cloudy overnight with lows in the upper 60s. Our weather pattern starts drying out to end the week. Isolated storms are possible Friday with highs into the mid-80s. We get warmer this weekend as highs get back to around 90. Skies should be mostly sunny, but isolated afternoon storms are still possible. Any rain this weekend won’t be as widespread as what we’ve seen so far this week.
