Red Raiders ready for a 6A Region title run

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Jere Adcock has had some great teams during his tenure with Decatur. The 2015 edition of the Red Raiders hasn’t been written, but if the preseason is any indication, Decatur may be a contender to win Class 6A, Region 8.

The Red Raiders reached the 6A Quarterfinals last season, before falling to eventual champions Clay-Chalkville. A number of players lost on the defensive side of the football, but Adcock seems to be very high on his offense heading into the season.

"We're a lot older, our receivers have done a really good job, I'm really excited about them being older, being able to function
a little bit better. I like our three running backs, they played a lot last year. They had a combined 13-hundred yards between the three of them. We've got some heartiness there."

The Red Raiders open the season on the road against Homewood on August 21st.
