Recovery efforts continue for missing man & teen at Lake Guntersville

(WAFF) -

Good Morning, the newsroom is buzzing this morning.

Search crews are still out on Lake Guntersville looking for a man and a 16 year-old boy missing after their canoe capsized Monday afternoon. We're sending WAFF 48's Muriel Bailey out to what's now being called a recovery operation. You'll see her live reports throughout the show on WAFF 48 News Today.

There's now a state of emergency in Ferguson, Missouri. It comes after several arrests overnight with protestors throwing rocks and bottles at police.

Back in the valley, students in Lawrence County and Athens City Schools will head back to class today. Heads up, police are cracking down on speeders and those who pass stopped buses/

A new twist this morning in the baseball bat attack on Talladega Mayor Larry Barton. At 6:42 a.m. you have to hear the connection between the mayor and his attacker.

Oh our lawmakers just can't get it together. Today is the last day for the special session in Montgomery and there is still no budget. See what's next at 5:42 a.m.

Hey, you know that guy who's always tight-rope walking somewhere? Well, Nik Wallenda is at it again. I'll tell you where you can catch him at 5:30 & 6:30 a.m.

Lauren Jones is still in for David while he's on vacation so tune in for her weather on the 10s and the good news she already has about some fall-like weather creeping in this week.

See you starting at 4:30 a.m. Have a great Tuesday!!
