Auburn opens practice for fall camp Tuesday

(WAFF) - After a long spring camp and SEC Media Days, the Auburn Tigers opened up camp Tuesday afternoon on the Plains. Tigers players practiced in helmets and shorts, with a mixture of indoor and outdoor work.
"Great to be on the practice fields with our players and our coaches; really our focus today was more about their standard, how to practice with everything, as far as effort body language and execution," said Auburn Head Coach Gus Malzahn.

Malzahn and his offense primed to have another big season, with first year starter Jeremy Johnson at Quarterback, but the defense will be the deciding factor for a potential SEC Championship and a trip to the College Football Playoff.

Will Muschamp enters the program hoping to reverse the fortunes of a unit that couldn't stop anyone in 2014.

One player that's excited to be back in the fold is defensive end Carl Lawson, who missed all of last season with a torn ACL.

"I'm not thinking about the injury, coaches are more thinking about that than me," Lawson said. "Even when I got back out there, i never really thought about my knee, even when I was coming back from it, because I 'm one of those players that plays with reckless abandon."
The Tigers return to practice Wednesday afternoon.
