AT 10: Ruling on inmate's abortion set for Friday

(Source: RNN) (Source: RNN)

Good Monday evening,

The Lauderdale County inmate who’s legally seeking an abortion will have to wait until Friday to hear an answer. Her case was heard by a judge today who is scheduled to rule by this Friday. WAFF 48’s Tiani Jones will have the latest on this unusual case.

We’re also following a proposed 1 cent sales tax increase in Jackson County. Residents are scheduled to vote on the proposal August 18th. But WAFF 48’s Vincent Crivelli will bring you comments from a group that’s opposed to the increase.

And a federal jury will hear more testimony Tuesday in the case of Huntsville police officer Brett Russell. Russell is charged with the use of excessive force and obstruction of justice in the 2011 arrest of a handcuffed man.

We hope you’ll join us tonight at 10.
