LOOK AHEAD: No relief from the summer heat as we head into the weekend

Weekend weather outlook

We’re starting this morning on a muggy note with temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s. Patchy fog could be locally dense, especially in Valleys, so you may need a few extra minutes for the morning drive into work. Any fog should lift by 9 a.m. and we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds into the afternoon. It will warm up faster than it did yesterday, and highs will top out in the lower 90s. Isolated storms are possible today, but many will stay dry. We should be in store for a quiet evening with mainly clear skies. Lows will dip into the lower 70s for Saturday morning with some patchy fog.

It will be hotter for the upcoming weekend. Skies will be mostly sunny and highs will be into the mid-90s Saturday, possibly reaching the upper-90s for your Sunday. There’s a very low chance for a pop up shower and if we see any rain this weekend, it would be from a short-lived afternoon storm. The heat index should be in the 100-105° neighborhood this weekend and early next week. Make sure you keep hydrated if you’ll be doing work outdoors.
