LOOK AHEAD: Storms expected to move across the Tennessee Valley

(WAFF) -

Storms moving into the Valley

Strong storms are headed east through Franklin County into Lawrence County. Heavy rain with frequent lightning can be expected. Additional storms will move into the Valley throughout the day. While many storms will be strong, but most won’t be intense enough to be considered severe. Highs should top out around 90. Storms should begin to fade this evening, and our weather pattern becomes less active for the weekend.

Isolated storms are still possible Friday afternoon with the highest chances across central and eastern Alabama. It will be warmer with more sunshine compared to today. Highs will be back into the low-to-mid-90s with the heat continuing to build this weekend. Highs can be expected in the mid-to-upper-90s with heat index readings around 100. Most of us will stay rain free this weekend with only a few isolated afternoon showers developing.
