LOOK AHEAD: Weather remains hot, muggy

(WAFF) -

Weather remains hot, muggy

It’s another warm, muggy start to the day. Temperatures are generally in the mid-70s this morning with  pockets of thicker fog, especially in mountain valleys, possible. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds through the day. It will warm up quickly once again, but it definitely won’t be quite as hot as it has been. Midday temperatures should be around 90° with highs in the mid-90s.

Scattered storms should develop as we head into the afternoon. We’ll see more of those storms than we did yesterday, but there will still be some that stay dry today. Storms should wind down after sunset.

Our storm chance will higher as we head through the middle of the week, with the overall severe threat across the area remaining relatively low. That being said, isolated storms will more intense and could become severe. Most storms will only produce wind gusts of 30-40 mph, but a handful could be stronger.  Any storm can produce frequent lightning and locally heavy rain.
