LOOK AHEAD: Weekend heat advisory ahead

(WAFF) - Heat advisory for your weekend

The brutal and dangerous heat returns to the Valley this weekend and a heat advisory is in effect Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures are comfortable this morning and ranging from the upper-60s into the mid-70s. A few foggy spots are possible, but fog shouldn't be too widespread this morning. Temperatures will warm quickly and highs will make it into the mid-to-upper-90s. The heat index will top out at 100-105° this afternoon. A few showers may develop into the afternoon as a weak frontal boundary moves north through the area. Skies will be mainly clear tonight with lows staying in the 70s.

Saturday should be a couple degrees hotter than today. A heat advisory is in effect for north Alabama and southern Tennessee for both days this weekend.  Highs will be into the upper 90s and the heat index could top 105. Rain chances are slim to none this weekend. The start of the work week won't be much relief. Highs will still be in the mid/upper 90s Monday with a low chance for showers. The rain chance does go up slightly for the middle of the week, and the oppressive heat should let up some. Highs will stay in the 90s.
