Kitchen Cops: Fast food restaurant dinged for unclean kitchen equipment

Four Tennessee Valley restaurants had points taken off their latest inspection report for a variety of offenses.

The Limestone County Health Department handed Jack's on Highway 31 in Athens an 80. The inspector reported there were problems with keeping equipment clean at the fast food restaurant  The inspection report revealed ice buckets, the ice maker, ice shoots and wire racks were not clean enough to satisfy the health department's standards. The inspector also reported some cheese wasn't cold enough, 22 degrees above the temperature required to prevent bacterial growth. 

The Morgan County Health Department gave an 82 to the Texas Roadhouse in Decatur. Keeping track of food temperatures periodically helps prevent food from getting out of temperature, and it's required. The inspector says they did not do that with some food. Also, the inspector spotted a personal drink on a table while food was being prepared on it.

Personal drinks on a prep table were also reported at the Decatur Country Club as they scored an 84. They also lost points because of rust on utensils. Also, urn spouts and a can opener needed to be cleaned.

The Papa Jack's on Bob Wallace Avenue in Huntsville scored a 78, The inspection report shows several hot food items weren't hot enough, 15 to 43 degrees below the temperature needed to prevent bacteria from growing. And a workers food and drink were discovered on a food storage shelf.
