MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

When a crime happens at a small business, it's a big deal.

They don't have the large dollars or large inventory of the major retailers.

We have more on a theft at a local antique store you can help us solve.

The theft happened at Madison Station Antiques on Main Street in Madison January 21.

A female suspect entered the store through a back door while the owner was upstairs doing inventory.

The woman decided she'd do some shopping using the old "5-fingered discount."

According to the store manager, the thief took some jewelry, then took some old glasses, then some shoe hooks.

And she also stole a 100-year-old pair of baby shoes, valued at $100 dollars, which the owner said are irreplaceable.

In all, the crook made off with around $200 worth of merchandise.

For a small business, that hurts. But you can put the hurt on her.

If you recognize or know who she is, we want to hear from you. Make the anonymous call to 256-53-CRIME. You can also anonymously text or email your tips.
