Crews restoring power while you were sleeping!

(WAFF) - Oh....a very busy night for crews racing to restore power to homes after storms swept through the Tennessee Valley.

We've got our crew headed to Lawrence County after reports of pretty bad damage in the Town Creek area. We're hoping to bring you pictures live at first light to show you how bad it got. What we know is the on and around highway 101 & highway 20 saw a lot of trees and power lines down. Also, county road 126 and a house caught on fire after a power line fell on the roof. We've got you covered on post-storm damage coverage on WAFF 48 News Today.

We'll also take you around the valley and even central Alabama to see what storms left behind there.

Meteorologist David Ernst will tell us what else we have to face this Wednesday in his weather on tens.

There's also a shocking new allegation coming out of the Lawrence County Animal Shelter story we've been following for about a month now. We looked into the shelter after allegations of abuse and neglect surfaced about the animals. Hear what a woman says happened to her after trying to search for her dog three different times at 5:00 & 6:00 a.m.

Hey it's day 3 of SEC Media Days. Today, it's all about Coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Sports Director Scott Theisen will have a preview for us at 5:00 & 6:00.

We have a lot to get to this morning so join Trent, David, & I starting at 4:30 a.m.

I hope you have a easy time getting over today's hump!!!
