HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - From an all-area performer at Buckhorn, to making appearances in the College World Series at Vanderbilt, it's been a great year-and-a-half for Kyle Wright.

"It seems like the first game of the year was like forever ago at the same time, but it's like it flew by that fast," said Wright. "It still is sinking it that we're about to start this next year's workout going. It was an honor to be a part of a great season like we just had."

Wright made the All SEC freshman team with 10 relief outings in league games and a bullpen-best 21 strikeouts. Success wasn't easy though. Hard work amongst elite talent was the reason for his solid season.

"It's just very tedious work, and it has to be tedious because the talent level is just so good, you have to be able to compete with all those other teams," he said.

It's now on to the off season and preparing for his sophomore season. Wright is expected to be more involved in the rotation, and possibly in the starting rotation next season.

"At the end of this month, starting next month, I'm going to go back up to school and start my throwing program," said Wright.
