LOOK AHEAD: Expect hot & muggy weather throughout your weekend

(WAFF) - Hot & muggy weather throughout the weekend

You can expect another hot, muggy day with mostly sunny skies. We're starting this morning in the lower 70s for the most part, but temperatures will warm quickly.  Like yesterday, many will already be into the 90s by the early afternoon. Highs should top out in the mid-to-upper 90s. It may not be as breezy this afternoon, but a SW wind of 5-10 can be expected.  The heat index will stay between 100-105° this afternoon. A stray afternoon shower isn't out of the question, but most of us stay dry. It will be a quiet and muggy night with lows in the low-to-mid-70s.

Saturday will be similar to today, although we do have a slightly higher chance for an afternoon shower. That being said, the vast majority of us will still remain rain free. Highs continue to run in the mid-90s into the start of the next work week. The afternoon rain chance also stays low through the weekend.

South Carolina to remove Confederate flag

Today, the Confederate flag will be removed from the State House grounds in South Carolina. This comes after a grueling 13-hour debate between South Carolina legislators on whether or not to remove the flag. The flag is expected to be removed around 9 a.m. CST.
