3 astronauts prep for Soyuz journey to ISS

(WAFF) -

Three astronauts are set to travel to the International Space Station on a Russian Soyuz space craft, just months after a Russian unmanned cargo craft burned up in Earth's atmosphere.

Despite the failed launch, the astronauts say they are confident in Russia's space program.

"Of course we are confident in the engineers and the professionalism of the Russian space program to identify the problems and to ensure that this problem does not exist with our spacecraft," said astronaut Kjell Lindgren.

Their trip was delayed two months by the failed launch. The astronauts are set to blast off into space from Kazakhstan July 23.

Right now, the Soyuz is the only way for U.S. astronauts to get to the ISS.
