LOOK AHEAD: 90-degree temps back in the forecast; No word yet if Army job cuts will affect the Arsenal

The 90-degree weather is back and highs will be in the mid-90s for the next couple of days with upper 90s possible by this weekend. You can expect a quick warm up and we’ll already near 90 degrees by noon. Highs will top out in the mid-90s with a heat index around 100. A very isolated shower or storm could develop today, but most of us will stay dry. Any storm that does form could produce locally heavy rain, but likely wouldn’t last for more than a half hour to an hour. We’re in store for a quiet night with a few clouds and lows in the lower 70s.

And no word yet on how the Army's cuts will affect the Arsenal. Yesterday, the Army announced that budget cuts would be affecting the positions of nearly 40,000 soldiers and 17,000 federal employees. Officials said that the cuts will impact 30 Army posts across the country, but it's unknown at this time if Redstone Arsenal is included in that list. The cuts will take place by the end of 2017.
