AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn Basketball is ranked second nationally in Div. I average home attendance increase, the NCAA announced on Monday. Auburn’s increase of 2,002 is its largest in 15 years.
“I want to thank the Auburn Family, students and alumni for their support this past season,” said head coach Bruce Pearl. “Our hope is to match on the court, the phenomenal success in the stands. Our fans were tremendous this year and made the atmosphere at Auburn Arena one of the best in the nation.”
Auburn averaged 7,825 in 17 home games this past year at Auburn Arena, the most since the 2001-02 season.
The top four ranked teams in NCAA Div. I average home attendance increase for 2014-15 include North Carolina State at 2795, Auburn 2002, Virginia 1972 and Utah 1790. The other three teams were NCAA Tournament participants.
In Pearl’s first season at Auburn last year, Auburn sold out of season tickets for the first time since 1999-2000.
