AT 10: Friends call man hero after making ultimate sacrifice

Good Monday evening.

We’re continuing to track a double drowning in Athens over this holiday weekend. 20-year old Calindo Fletcher, Jr. is being called a hero after he died trying to save Buddy Wayne Johnson from drowning at Lake Summit. WAFF 48’s Vincent Crivelli spoke with Fletcher’s former football coach at Buckhorn High School to shed more light on just what sort of individual this young man was.

We’re also looking into flooding concerns in a Decatur housing development that has yet to be built. WAFF 48’s Jim Abath is talking to Decatur Mayor Don Kyle about who bears the responsibility for addressing the residents’ concerns should the area flood.

And can you imagine a man facing charges for the torture/willful abuse of a child? You can help us find this guy and 4 others who are wanted by law enforcement in this week’s Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers “Valley’s Wanted”.

We hope you’ll join us tonight at 10
