LOOK AHEAD: Warmer weather headed our way; Huntsville PD investigating 2 overnight shootings

(WAFF) -

Warmer weather is headed to the Tennessee Valley while the chances of rain go down.

The heat continues to build through the week. As we get hotter, the chance for rain goes down. By Thursday, highs should be into the mid-90s with just isolated storms popping up each afternoon. The summertime humidity continues, and heat index values should climb above 100 degrees by the end of the week. We stay hot into next weekend with highs continuing to run in the mid-90s. Isolated afternoon storms remain in the forecast as well.

Huntsville police are also investigating two separate shootings that happened Sunday night. One victim was shot in the leg after what police say began as a home invasion.

A second shooting sent a teen to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after police say unknown suspects in a black Ford Focus drove up and fired multiple shots at the victim.
