HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Good morning! Here are some things you'll need to keep your eye on during the day:

A great day to stay inside with temps to possibly reach high 90s.

Expect it to warm up quickly with readings already to near 90° by noon. Highs will push into the mid/upper 90s once again. Heat indices should top 100. Most of the area will stay rain free, but a brief, pop-up shower isn't completely out of the question. Any clouds will diminish around sunset, and we'll be left with mainly clear skies tonight. Lows should fall into the low-to-mid 70s once again.

Our chance for an afternoon storm is a little higher for Thursday. That being said, any storms will still be isolated in nature. Highs should be into the mid 90s with lows that night in the lower 70s.

Daughter allegedly faked disability, accused of killing mother

Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott didn't mince words when he announced that a daughter and her boyfriend were responsible for the fatal stabbing death of the woman's mother.

Gypsy Rose Blancharde, 23, of Springfield, and her "paramour," Nicholas Paul Godejohn, 26, of Big Bend, WI, are being held in a jail in Wisconsin on $1 million bond each. They were arraigned Tuesday on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. The woman, who walked into court, was in tears and spoke in a small voice during her court appearance.

Arnott said authorities are working to get them transferred from Wisconsin to Greene County.

During his news conference, Arnott destroyed the narrative that Claudinnea "Dee Dee" Blancharde and her daughter were destitute survivors of Hurricane Katrina. And the claims that Gypsy Blancharde was so wracked by leukemia and other ailments that she couldn't walk?

A total lie, Arnott said.
