Former Boy Scout leader arrested on child porn charges; man accused of holding hostages at Red Bay pharmacy; Valley pharmacies work to prevent robberies

. - Good Tuesday evening.

A former Limestone County Boy Scout leader has been arrested on child porn charges. Investigators found hundreds of pornographic images of children on Robert Glen Kahler's computer. The 49-year old Kahler stepped down from his position with the Boy Scouts after a search warrant was executed at his home. WAFF 48's Tiani Jones will have more on this case at 10.

The man accused of holding five people hostage inside a Red Bay pharmacy remains in the hospital tonight recovering from a drug overdose. Investigators say 28-year old Christopher Trail forced four employees into a back room at Redmont Pharmacy this morning and demanded drugs from the pharmacist, Donna Weatherford. Authorities say Weatherford eventually convinced Trail to let her employees go. And when Trail passed out, she took a shotgun from him.

Pharmacy robberies have increased a whopping 81% from 2006 to 2010. With that in mind, WAFF 48's Lauren Bale went to another Valley pharmacy to find out what security measures are in place to head off this trend. You might be surprised to hear what this pharmacy is doing to prevent similar robberies.
