Look Ahead: Sunshine during the day, but how long will that last? Anthrax shipments came from military site in Utah desert.

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Good morning! Here are some things you should keep your eye out for today!

Sunshine during the day, but how long will that last?

You can expect to see more sunshine through the day than has been the case earlier in the week. Isolated showers should develop this morning across central Alabama and they'll lift to the north.

By noon, some of those showers will make it into the Valley and readings will be near 80. Highs will push into the mid 80s as showers and storms become more widespread during the afternoon. Localized flash flooding will be a concern once again as any storms should be relatively slow moving.

Isolated storms could become strong or severe, but most won't reach that level of intensity. Damaging wind gusts and small hail would be the threats from any stronger storm.

Anthrax shipments came from military site in Utah desert.

Today we are learning more about the the U.S. Army's mistaken shipment of live anthrax samples to government and commercial laboratories occurred at a military post in a desolate stretch of the Utah desert that has been testing chemical weapons since it opened in 1942.

This incident has raised more concerns about a facility that many Utah residents hardly think about because it's in such a desolate area of this Western state where nearly three-fourths of the 2.9 million people live an urban corridor along Salt Lake City area.
