HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Good morning! Here are some things to keep your eye out for today:

The defense will continue presenting its case in a Shoals murder trial.

Yesterday, prosecutors wrapped up their case, and it was the defense attorney for Eugene Jones' turn to present.

Jones is accused of killing Lula Addison and hiding her body under a bed at the City Lodge Motel back in 2013.

Despite video confessions from Jones to police, the defense claims Addison died from alcohol and cocaine use.

Clean up continues as crews try to contain massive oil spill on the west coast.

The operator of a broken oil pipeline that fouled a California shoreline says it could be weeks or even months before investigators are able to determine what caused the break and subsequent spill.

Crews have yet to excavate the broken piece of pipeline, which under the law must be done in the presence of federal regulators and a third party, officials with Plains All American Pipeline LP said at a Thursday night news conference at the Santa Barbara County beach where the spill occurred two days earlier.

Looks like it's going to be a bright, bright sun shining day.

We should be around 70° by noon with highs into the mid/upper 70s. Winds will be lighter than yesterday, but still out of the north around 5 mph.

Skies stay clear this evening and through tonight. Temperatures will cool quickly, and you'll probably want some long sleeves on if you'll be out late. We should dip into the lower 60s by 9 p.m. with lows falling into the mid 50s to begin your Saturday. We've got a pretty nice start to Memorial weekend on tap.

We hope you have a fantastic day and a safe weekend!
